Warning: This is just my opinion, not fact, so you don't have to go all persnickety on me. I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just saying why I like, am ambivalent to, or dislike a certain pairing.
I just think it's interesting that I can go from loving a character to absolutely hating a character all because of who she is with. And to clarify, it's not so much the actual relationship of IchiHime that I oppose, it's the effect Ichigo had on Orihime that makes me despise the pairing. Oddly enough, Orihime reminds me of Elle Woods from Legally Blonde (more the musical than the movie). Both ladies may be on the ditzy side but they're not stupid. However, when Elle is around Warner her IQ drops twenty points, and similarly, when Orihime is around Ichigo her IQ drops...twenty points. That's all I'm saying. I know UlquiHime isn't exactly the perfect picture of a "healthy" relationship, but I don't pretend it is. There's definitely some elements of Stockholm Syndrome and a LOT of Lima Syndrome going on. But that's not the reason I ship the pairing: it's because by themselves Ulquiorra and Orihime are...okay, if somewhat blandish, characters, but when they're together? They're WAY more interesting and, in my opinion, more three-dimensional. And for those three SzayelHime shippers out there, why no SzayelHime in here? We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. Just as well, actually, given how I'm more of an IchiRukia supporter.
Generally speaking, I tend to reject Orihime almost entirely as a result... but now that I think about it, IshiHime doesn't sound too bad.

When she's not around Ichigo, though, she's great. It was awesome when she slapped Ulqui (even though I love them together XD)
